Fayette Main Street is seeking applications for the new position of executive director. The successful candidate will work closely with the FMS board of directors to develop revitalization strategies for downtown Fayette, coordinate activities of Fayette Main Street events and committees, and oversee and develop ongoing public awareness and business education programs. The executive director also will provide a variety of assistance to business owners and property owners, particularly in a coordinated property improvement effort and will encourage a cooperative climate with downtown businesses and community organizations by promoting opportunities for partnerships and collaboration.
Other responsibilities include: managing organization business records and representing Fayette Main Street and advocating for downtown issues on the city, county, state levels.
Bachelor’s degree or significant non-profit experience required. Education or experience in non-profit management, historic preservation, public relations, or business administration is preferred. Must have excellent oral and written communication and grant-writing skills.
